Location: Kom Ombo was originally a Greek settlement called Om-
bos (from the Egyptian "nubt", meaning City of Gold). Known for the unusial double temple (II century BC). Edfu is known for the major Ptolemaic Horus Temple, the most completely preserved in Egypt.
